Milwaukee 481
The 481 waits for the crew at the Mineral Point depot on a Sunday morning. The Mineral Point & Northern used the second level of the depot for its offices and dispatcher. The MP&N shared the turntable with the Milwaukee Road, but had a separate engine house!! The 26 mile MP&N had trackage rights on the Milwaukee from Mineral Point to Highland Jct and then operated on its own track to Highland. The MP&N was abandoned and dismantled in 1930. The depot was built in 1857 and is now a museum.

Andre Wehrle General Was Highland Junction along what is now County Highway O where it goes over Furnace Creek? Was it a one-way junction or a wye (there's pretty much no trace of it left now)? 1/11/2023 10:40:14 PM
