Description:  Prior to departing Ogden, westbound trains would get a track warrant from the dispatcher. I was surprised to hear the DS issue this warrant to engineer Harrop....Doug Harrop...SP engineer, photographer and railroad historian. Engineer Harrop has his train westbound under "kodachrome skies" toward the Great Salt Lake causeway.

Description:  In 2004, the UP began upgrading the Ft. Collins branch to allow 6 axle power to be used. Traffic was increasing on the Great Western and the UP would be handling larger, more frequent trains. Part of this upgrade included building a siding along the UP track eliminating the need to use BNSFs North Yard. In this photo, 5 UP motors are in North Yard to interchange with the BNSF and GWR.
