Album Info:The Tennessee Southern operates two lines out of Columbia, TN. The Columbia-Florence line was built by the Nashville, Florence & Sheffield Railroad which was acquired by the Louisville & Nashville in the 1870's. The Columbia-Pulaski line was built by the Nashville & Decatur (N&D) and bought by the L&N in 1871. This line once extended to Decatur, AL. The Tennessee Southern operates 149 miles and is one of 12 shortlines owned by Patriot Rail Corporation. The TSRR interchanges with CSX at Natco, TN, north of Columbia. The TSRR has operated these 2 lines since 1988.
