Album Info:The GWR operates a network of lines in Northern Colorado. A majority of shippers are concentrated at the Great Western Industrial Park in Windsor. Vestas Blades, Front Range Energy, Owens-Illinois, Halliburton, Hexcel and Rocky Mountain Transload keep the GWR very busy. Commodities include outbound oil, ethanol and turbine blades; inbound frac sand, silica sand, corn and lumber. It is not uncommon for the GWR to handle over 500 cars a week!! They frequently operate unit trains with run-through power from BNSF, UP, NS and CSX. Connections are made with the BNSF at Fort Collins, Loveland and Longmont and with the UP at Fort Collins, Kelim and Milliken.
